VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA - October 4th, 2005Beanstream Internet Commerce Inc., a leading provider of electronic payment and authentication solutions announces that it has integrated Mastercard SecureCode functionality into its core payment processing services.
MasterCard SecureCode is designed to bring the same level of security to the virtual world as Mastercard has in the physical world. With Mastercard Securecode, a private code is used for added protection against unauthorized use of your card when you shop at participating online merchants.
About MasterCard SecureCode
MasterCard SecureCode is a program designed to provide online retailers the added security of having issuing banks authenticate their individual cardholders and qualify their online transactions for protection against "cardholder unauthorized" or "I didn't do it" chargebacks. MasterCard SecureCode runs on a merchant's website and interacts with both the customer and their card issuer. When a customer is checking out, a simple pop-up box appears asking them to enter a private code that has been registered with their bank.
